¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo a nuestras familias mexicanas! NOTES FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
At the January 15th School Board Meeting, Frost Lake once again received the Superintendent's Banner for Continuous Academic Achievement. At the meeting, I accepted the Banner on behalf of the many Frost Lake staff members who tirelessly give of themselves on behalf of our students. During this time of accountability for standardized State MCA II test scores, recognition of other equally important measures is important, for a more balanced perspective of student achievement. Last night, Frost Lake was | | Parent Involvement Day activities | recognized for the seventh time, in the past nine years, as a recipient of the Superintendent's Banner. This is a noteworthy accomplishment, of which I am very proud.
Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) is a measurement determined by the State that all schools must adhere to, or be placed on the AYP list. This year, Frost Lake is on an AYP warning list. Our spring MCA II test results will be very important for our school's status with the State. We need all students to try their very hardest to do their very best on these tests. We need and appreciate the support of all parents to encourage their children to do so on the 'high stakes' tests.
... SEEING IS BELIEVING... I encourage all parents, and prospective parents of Frost Lake students, to visit our amazing Magnet School Program during the school day. Feel the calm, supportive, and engaging atmosphere that children enter into each day to learn. Come and observe instructional best practices in kindergarten through sixth grade, with state | | Frost Lake Magnet School--click to enlarge | of the art technology, abundant books, and other related instructional materials. Frost Lake School is like no other ... SEEING IS BELIEVING...
Sincerely,
AnnaMarie Erbes
