Students at Frost Lake explore a variety of science disciplines including: earth, life, physical and chemical to help understand how the world works. We use a hands-on approach, but will also learn the language of science. Projects, experiments and explorations make learning about our world exciting.
Students will be required to write daily in their science journals, just as real world scientists do.
At Frost Lake, science is taught in a week long rotation to students in grades K-6.
Currently themes studied by grade:
- First Grade - Is working on the Air and Weather Foss Kit
- Second Grade- Working on the Insects Foss Kit
- Third Grade - Is working on Structures of Life Foss Kit
- Fourth Grade - Is working on You and Your Body
- Fifth Grade - Is working on the Environment Foss Kit
- Sixth Grade - Is working on the Models and Design Foss Kit
